This unique watercolor class is for the beginner or experienced student who would like to experiment more with watercolor paints. Participants use watercolor paints in traditional ways with some fascinating twists to add intriguing textures and nuances to their paintings. Items as salt, plastic wrap, rice paper, sand, ice and even liquid soap can produce surprising yet sophisticated results. Each student creates a small landscape using discoveries made in class.
Students bring a watercolor set (tubes or pans); a variety of watercolor brushes including a 1-inch and #12; and several sheets of cold-pressed 140 lb. watercolor paper no larger than 11 x 14. All other materials are provided.
