Please Note: The workshop has a rescheduled date (originally October 15, 2018).

Nuno, the Japanese word for fabric, lends itself to the name of one of the newest textile techniques. Nuno felting exploits the capability of wool fibers to bond to any open-weave fabric before shrinking, creating lightweight, drapeable, textured felt. Quickly adopted by fashion houses and seen on the world’s runways, nuno-felted material has become well-loved for making clothes and wearable art.

In this workshop, participants create, and explore variations on this unique and versatile technique used to create accessories, jewelry, wall hangings, curtains, and other projects. A $30 supply fee, payable to the instructor at the first class, covers the cost of a hand-dyed silk and wool kit and all shared supplies.

Instructor: Renate Maile-Moskowitz

One 6.5-hour session, includes a lunch break (participants provide their own lunch)
