Admission Materials for this program Supply List Resize text By Mïa Vollkommer Knowing how to put together elements of wirework and strung bead jewelry is crucial to creative success. However, all the techniques in your toolbox become useless if you get stuck during the design process. Learn important design principles for jewelry makers such as use of color, creating visual texture and balance, managing proportion, and more. Demonstrations and examples, many from the Smithsonian’s own collection, provided by the instructor are followed by a design challenge for students to complete and have fun with between the first and second class meetings. Some previous jewelry making experience—such as Introduction to Beading—is recommended Special Program Information The instructor is Mïa Vollkommer. This program includes 2 sessions, 2.5 hours each.
