Bookstore owner Eileen McGervey with her favorite mystery novel of 2017… so far

The Washington area is a book lover’s playground, with excellent local bookstores serving every kind of literary taste. This fall, Smithsonian Associates introduces a new monthly series in which wonderfully knowledgeable local booksellers preview upcoming titles in genres they know and love.

Looking for a good thriller for Halloween? Join Eileen McGervey, owner of One More Page Books in Arlington, as she investigates the newest crop of mystery and suspense titles. It’s a perfect way to find out what your favorite authors have in the works, discover a new writer, or begin making your gift list for the holidays.

In the literary spirit, tea, sherry, and cookies round out each session.

NOTE: In November, a staff member from Politics and Prose covers history and biography titles, and a Potter’s House bookseller offers top picks among gift books and children’s books in December.
