Natalia Wilkins-Tyler

Natalia is a graduate of the Science Illustration Program (2012) at California State University, Monterey Bay and of the School of Botanical Art & Illustration at Denver Botanic Gardens (2007). Her undergraduate degree is from Lake Forest College with a dual major in Biological Science and Art.

Natalia's fascination with plants and botanical illustration began at a very young age. She spent her youth split between Denver, Colorado's mountain landscapes and the tropical environment of Costa Rica, where she honed a passion for biology hiking the rain forests observing bird and wildlife species.

Upon moving to Utah she participated in a 10 week internship with Natural History Museum of Utah's anthropology department illustrating the pictographs, petroglyphs and granaries of Range Creek. Since then Natalia has taught a number of workshops at the Natural History Museum; basics of plant illustration and demonstration of sketching birds. She currently is working at ARUP Laboratory's as a Graphic Designer. She teaches Botanical Illustration for Red Butte Gardens (Salt Lake City, UT) and for the University of Utah's Lifelong Learning program.
