Michelle René Cobb
Michelle René Cobb is an award-winning artist and art director who began her career as a designer and illustrator for over 35 Time-Life books. She later became Art Director for Sports Illustrated magazine. She studied oil painting for 16 years with master painter Edward Loper, Sr. Her work has been shown in numerous art exhibitions across the US and Europe. Her education includes a Master of Fine Arts from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science from Skidmore College. Additional studies include Pratt Institute, Rhode Island School of Design, Corcoran College of Art and Design, School of Visual Arts, and United Digital Artists.
She has taught art and design at the university and high school level for over 30 years, including the University of Maryland, University of Delaware, Montgomery College of Visual Art and Design, and Delaware College of Art & Design. Michelle has been invited to numerous artist residencies worldwide, including France, Spain, Italy, West Africa, Canada, and the United States. Michelle René Cobb is the former Studio Art Chair at Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C., where she taught for 20 years . She has also served a 10-term as a College Board AP Studio Art Reader.
