Since completing her master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in 1999, Kate Lewis has been transforming textiles into textured, multi-dimensional, manipulated fabrics that have been featured in the collections of luxury fashion and interior brands in Paris and New York.
Since 2018, she has been creating botanical collages made directly from newsprint as a way to process the state of world affairs. The work commemorates, celebrates and bears witness to events, representing this moment in time we are living through. What started as a personal research project culminated in a sell-out solo art show at Railings Gallery, Marylebone in 2019, as well as an exhibit with Future Icons gallery during London Craft Week in in 2020.
