Washington, D.C. has a rich collection of architectural details and public sculpture that are truly bizarre—gargoyles, grotesques, winged heads, tritons, hippocampi, sea serpents, winged horses, griffins, sphinxes and more. Other Halloween inspired subjects such as ghost photography using slow shutter speeds, camera controls, and time of day recommendations for some specific locations are discussed. Between sessions, go on a search for your local bizarre statues, sculptures, and architectural features. The second session is a photo review of your spooky shots.

Gargoyles, sea serpents, winged horses, griffins, and sphinxes abound as architectural details and public sculpture in Washington, D.C. The first session recommends the best time of day to photograph some of them and teaches you how to do “ghost” photography using slow shutter speeds and camera controls. Between sessions, go on a search for your favorite bizarre statues, sculptures, and architectural features. The second session is a photo review of your spooky shots.
