Learn to understand design and composition as it is expressed in non-objective art using various mixed media materials and techniques. You will examine works by various artists to discern the elements of composition, how they have been used, and how these concepts are expressed in different styles of art. Through a series of exercises, break down these elements and explore a variety of strategies to construct successful abstract pieces using collage techniques. The main objective is to understand design concepts, how to apply them, and ways to expand on them in individual pieces.
