Today’s quiltmaking is a dynamic medium for creative expression. Whether you want to stitch together three basic layers of cloth for warmth or create an elaborate art quilt, there is room for every quilter in this class. By viewing examples of historic and modern quilts, students get a big picture of quiltmaking, noticing materials, design, and color choices as well as construction techniques. Projects are sewn primarily by hand, and basic hand stitching techniques are mastered through sample exercises. Participants design and create quilts using these techniques. Perfect for beginners or those wanting to get back into quiltmaking.
