Through the eye of an artist, wonder and inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere. The Smithsonian is full of art of all kinds and forms—from famous paintings to artifacts that reflect the beauty found in nature. Adventurers explore and discuss artworks and objects in the Smithsonian’s collections, hear from experts, and create their own Smithsonian-inspired pieces that express their new understanding of what makes art—and an artist.

Click here for the Supply List for this Adventure. Please ensure your child has access to these materials at the beginning of each class.

In grade-appropriate multi-week programs, participants take a deep dive into the Smithsonian’s collections. These Adventures engage young people with unique content about natural sciences, history, art, and so much more. Weekday sessions explore a variety of Smithsonian topics and include virtual visits to museums, hands-on projects, games, collaborative challenges, and conversations with experts during an hour and half of live online interaction with a team of experienced instructors.

Please Note: This same Adventure is offered on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. ET.  The same material will be taught in both sessions; please do not register for both.
