To say that audiences and critics have found Midge Maisel’s world to be a pretty marvelous place would be an understatement. In its first two seasons on Amazon Prime, this show centered on a 1950s Manhattan wife and mother who transforms herself into a stand-up comic, has gathered far more awards than can fit into a B. Altman shopping bag.
The count includes 16 Emmys, three Golden Globes, five Critics’ Choice Awards, three SAG Awards, two Producers Guild Awards, a Writers Guild of America Award, and a Peabody Award.
Last year, Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, made Emmy history with nods for both comedy writing and directing, becoming the first person to achieve that combination of wins. She teams on the show with Daniel Palladino, who is also an executive producer and serves as writer and director for three seasons.
Join them for a special evening in celebration of the show’s December 6 season three premiere on Amazon Prime Video, as they discuss their inspiration behind the creation of “Mrs. Maisel,” their wide-ranging careers in television, and what it’s like to work together on one of today’s most honored and beloved series.
