Everything Orchids

Studio Arts Workshop

Sunday, September 15, 2019 - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Code: 1K00PG

Paphiopedilum niveum

Join an orchid-care expert for an enjoyable and informative afternoon about America’s favorite household plant. The session provides an overview of Orchidaceae, from how orchids evolved, how they grow in their native environments, and how to raise them successfully at home.

Fun facts and orchid-care tips are provided to spark the interest of experienced orchid collectors, as well as beginners. In a hands-on activity, all participants receive a small Paphiopedilum orchid and learn how to re-pot it to take home.

Participants may also bring in orchids (or photos) from their own collections for a question-and-answer session with the instructor, during which light refreshments are served.

Instructor: Barbara Schmidt
