Each year, over a million people in the United States alone hear the words no one ever wants to hear: “You have cancer.” But what if there was a way for fewer people to hear them?
One of the biggest myths regarding cancer is that it’s mostly genetic—meaning that you have no control over whether you get it. Despite what many people think, most cancer is not caused by genetics, but rather lifestyle.
Physician John Whyte, chief medical officer of WebMD, provides ways to put that premise into action. He offers guidelines to assess your personal risk for cancer; explores what you should and shouldn't eat; what types of exercise you need to do; and ways to manage stress and poor sleep that can reduce your cancer risk and help you on a journey to better health.
In-person attendees receive a complimentary copy of Whyte’s book Take Control of Your Cancer Risk (Harper Horizon, 2021).
