Select your Tickets $155 Member $175 Non-Member Materials for this program Supply List Resize text Moroccan Café by Matisse, 1913 This course examines fundamental concepts of composition and their practical application in studio-art practice, offering participants tools to enrich their work as well as analyze and appreciate visual art in general. The sessions include a visual presentation, discussion, and hands-on exercises to help participants gain a finer appreciation of compositional aspects such as structure and balance, positive and negative space, contrast and color. Participants create several collages based on artworks and themes discussed while exploring connections between the formal elements of visual art in combination with the emotional impact of works of art as a whole.
