Discover the rich and wondrous world of Japan! Campers learn about the amazing art, culture, folklore, language, and theater of Japan. They visit the Asian Art Museum to see the Japanese paintings, stoneware ceramics, screens, and tea-ceremony items. Then they voyage to Natural History Museum and the National Zoo for inspiration as they create their own Japanese-inspired screens; learn how to play kendama; draw their own anime cartoons characters; and participate in a kabuki-inspired puppet show based on a folk legend. Campers present their own travelogue of their journey at the end of the week.
