Feeling balanced contributes to our sense of well-being and promotes resilience in the face of life’s challenges. Centering-art practices can be an effective tool in helping to restore this sense of equilibrium. These practices include the use of circular designs to emphasize the connection among the mind, the body, and the spirit.

Led by master quilter Lauren Kingsland, participants learn how to create calming geometric designs and how to use them for contemplation and relaxation practices. The long history of traditional circular patterns used around the world, as well as naturally occurring designs, are explored.

Students may choose to work in the medium of drawing or fiber art—or both. Practicing artists and those seeking new or deepening meditation and relaxation techniques are encouraged to attend.

This class will be recorded. Please see our FAQ for recording terms and conditions.
