Why do the kids get to have all the fun? When you were younger, did you want to be an artist—but then life got in the way? Recapture the desire to explore a variety of media, to let loose, and to create your own original artwork. This course introduces materials, tools, and techniques used in keeping a sketchbook. Work with polymer clay, watercolor painting, printmaking, collage, weaving, and drawing. The elements and principles of art are discussed during a tour of Smithsonian museum collections.
Beginners and professional artists interested in experimenting with new media are welcome.
