Students benefit from small-group lectures, individual instruction, and independent work to gain confidence in a specific area. Possible instructional topics include, but are not limited to, toning, fiber-based printing, strengthening basic skills such as dodging and burning, and assessment of print quality. A guided lesson on processing color negatives is optional. In addition to refining technical skills, students are encouraged to study the work of photographers that provide inspiration for their work.
