Become familiar with the vocabulary of color and how to use printed fabric to create spectacular color combinations in your quilts. Gain an understanding of color theory and color combination principles through basic class exercises that use fabric and glue on paper, then assemble the exercises into a reference color notebook. The homework assignment between classes is to create one sewn (or pasted) quilt block that incorporates an assigned fabric. Through experimentation, students go beyond familiar color schemes to find their sense of color confidence. Open to all levels of quilt-making experience.
