We might sometimes poke fun at her (she does) or say she’s “last year,” but when she starts to sing she can still your heart or lift you over the moon. She’s a sorceress of notes, a Circe of song, who covers pop tunes, show tunes, movie tunes, and Sondheim with ease. And then there are her movies—funny, tender, or over the top.
