Though Washington is made up of many concrete buildings, the capital city also filled with beautiful green spaces and gardens. Throughout the week campers discover these places, their history, and what makes them such a special part of D.C. Working in teams, they expand their love for the city as they create a series of flora-related podcasts as part of the Federal City Council’s Pride in Place initiative. Campers design their own themed garden and devise an interactive map to showcase their work at the end of the week. Who knows, there may even be one or two “secret gardens” among them.
