“In the not-too-distant future…” campers work together to create an original science fiction play. Throughout the week, campers perform science experiments, play theater games on the National Mall, and visit the Natural History Museum to inspire ideas for their out-of-this world production. Scientific concepts explored each day—such as chromatography—are used in the creation of the work’s artistic elements. Campers write the script, create costumes and set, and perform on Friday for guests as they “really just relax” for Mystery Science Theater, Smithsonian-style.
