Fought for eight days in Netherlands and Germany, Operation Market Garden was the largest Allied airborne operation of all time. The plan hinged on the seizure of bridges across the Maas (Meuse) River and the Rhine. Unable to secure the bridgehead of the Rhine, Operation Market Garden was a failure for Allied forces. Campers use miniature soldiers, war games, reference books, documentaries, and detailed models to learn about this pivotal battle. To stimulate ideas for building their own dioramas and terrain board, they spend a day visiting Udvar-Hazy Center.
