Journey with freelance travel writer Barbara Noe Kennedy as you discover Paris, including the most intriguing sites, historical aspects, and art in this virtual exploration using maps, photos, videos, and other visuals.
Kennedy, a freelance travel writer and editor, is a former senior editor at National Geographic Travel Publishing. She served as an expert on National Geographic Expeditions tours to Italy and France.
Session Information
The Left Bank
The lively Latin Quarter has historically been the home of Parisian intellectuals, artists, and musicians. Take a look at three Left Bank museums—the newly renovated Musée de Cluny, the world-renowned Musée d'Orsay, and Musée Rodin—then pay tribute to the most iconic Parisian landmark, the Eiffel Tower. In bohemian Montmartre, stroll artsy lanes filled with fascinating history stretching back to the legend of St. Denis, and uncover some of the lesser-known sights along the way, including the Frank Gehry-designed contemporary art center and museum in the Bois de Boulogne. The impressionist village of Auvers-sur-Oise and majestic Versailles are also on the virtual itinerary.
