A good night’s sleep might be a dream for some, but the importance of sleep and how it impacts our overall health is a reality for all. John Whyte, WebMD’s chief medical officer, presents the latest research about sleep, including what strategies work best to improve sleep.

Can too little sleep or even too much sleep be a sign of a serious health condition such as diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disorders, or even cancer? How do sleep disorders affect quality of life? Could a melatonin supplement help or do you need a temperature-regulated pillow? How do you know what amount of sleep is best for you, and what your sleep pattern might tell about your overall health?

Whyte answers these questions and more and shares a sleep quiz to help you determine if you’re getting enough quality sleep.
