A replica of a Revolutionary War squad room at Old Barracks Museum (Old Barracks Museum)

Historians Ed Bearss and Gregg Clemmer follow the paths that brought George Washington and his army to some of the most critical locations of the Revolutionary War in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Begin at Washington Crossing Historic Park, at the Pennsylvania site where Washington and his soldiers set across the Delaware to New Jersey on Christmas night, 1776. Visit the Battle of Trenton Monument, then the Old Barracks Museum for a taste of military life in the Continental Army. A stop at the site of the January 1777 Battle of Princeton rounds out the day.

On Sunday, Bearss and Clemmer lead the group on visits to the sites of the Battle of the Clouds and the Paoli Massacre before arriving at Valley Forge National Historical Park. The Continental Army encamped on the site during the brutal winter of 1777–1778, and the park includes remains and reconstructed fortifications, Washington’s headquarters, numerous monuments, reconstructed huts, and a memorial chapel and visitors center.
