"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast." —Ernest Hemingway

There’s no better way to celebrate young Ernest Hemingway’s Paris than a little music, some great literature, evocative images, and of course…cocktails! Robert Wheeler, professor of English at Southern New Hampshire University highlights the city that the writer loved most, and Hemingway enthusiast and cocktail connoisseur Philip Greene offers a taste of the drinks that he enjoyed there.

In the 1920s, Paris was where writers, painters, musicians, and composers went to work and make names for themselves. Hemingway’s first novel The Sun Also Rises and his memoir A Moveable Feast were about the city, and its streets, parks, bookstores, and bars were lovingly described in these and many of his other works. Wheeler’s images and commentary capture the mood of the city, the sites Hemingway frequented, and the spaces where he found inspiration: along the river’s edge and at such iconic places as the Gare de Lyon and Getrude Stein’s parlor at 27 rue de Fleurus.

Enjoy some of Hemingway’s favorite drinks as Greene discusses Hemingway’s life and literature, and delves deeply and entertainingly into Papa’s world by offering libations directly connected with his novels and the author himself.

Wheeler’s book Hemingway’s Paris (Yucca Publishing) and the newly released second edition of Greene’s To Have and Have Another—A Hemingway Cocktail Companion (Perigee Books) are available for signing.
