The Smithsonian’s African Art Museum and International Gallery are transformed into an exotic and high-energy night spot that mixes art, fashion, music, and dancing as this year’s Francophonie festival closes in style.

Guests at the Premium and VIP Admission ticket levels begin the evening with a private pre-party at the museum from 7 to 8 p.m., where they’ll enjoy food and drinks, gallery tours, and music by The Pinstriped Rebel.

General admission ticket holders are invited to join us at 8, as the party gets going with the music of Kaïssa, a singer-songwriter whose African-inspired songs have been heard by audiences world-wide. Born in the Republic of Cameroon, raised in Paris, and now a New Yorker, she’s appeared as a guest artist with Paul Simon at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, at leading music festivals, on television, and on extensive international tours. A fashion show of African-fusion designs organized by United Aid for Africa, late-night gallery-going, and dancing to an eclectic mix of world music are all part of the fun.

VIP guests enjoy access to a private lounge, including an open bar and special perks throughout the evening.

Drink tickets will be available for purchase throughout the museum beginning at 8 p.m.

Participants must be 21 or older to enter; photo identification will be checked at the door. This is not a seated event.
