Holiday decorations in the Grand Foyer

Special Offer: All participants who register for this tour by October 1 will receive a complimentary registration to the December 9 Radio City Music Hall: Forever Spectacular online program on Zoom. Further information will be shared with qualifying registrants via email in October.

There’s no more iconic holiday performance in New York than Radio City Music Hall’s famed Christmas Spectacular. And there’s no better way to see the precision dancing of the Rockettes than from prime orchestra seats in the fabulous Art Deco theater where the show has been a tradition since 1933.

Before the theatrical magic begins at a matinee performance, get a special behind-the-scenes VIP tour of the music hall, covering the stunning 1930s interiors and art, the Great Stage, Mighty Wurlitzer organ, and an opportunity to meet a Rockette along the way.

A gourmet box lunch is served en route; dinner is on your own during 2 hours of free time after the performance.

Program includes performance, behind-the-scenes tour, lunch, premiere motorcoach, services of a Smithsonian representative, program itinerary and handout, and all gratuities.

Know Before You Go

  • The tour departs by motorcoach from downtown Washington, DC with a designated secondary pick-up outside the city. Content delivered by the study leader on the way to the destination, after the secondary pick-up, is an integral part of the study tour experience. Meeting the group once the tour is en route is discouraged.
  • Tour participants meet at and leave by bus from the Mayflower Hotel, Connecticut Ave. and DeSales St., NW, with a pickup stop at the DoubleTree by Hilton Laurel, 15101 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, Maryland, at about 7:25 a.m.
  • Tickets are in the orchestra section, rows PP–TT (approximately 18 rows from the stage); the cost of Music Hall tickets are not refundable over and above the usual refund policy.
  • The tour takes place unless interstate travel is not possible. Some walking and standing is required.
