Materials for this program

By Renate Maile-Moskowitz

Apply the technical and artistic principles of drawing or painting to take advantage of wool fiber’s magical properties. Mimic layout, arrangement, color blending, and shading to create realistic or abstract painted images with felt. Your artwork is not limited to a flat surface: Play with the possibilities of felt to create 3D and relief effects.

Pictorial felt can make not only framed wall art but other home decor items, such as rugs, table runners, pillowcases, and placemats. Personalized coverings for a book, folder, photo album, diary, or checkbook are candidates for artistic embellishments. Let your imagination run wild with this easily accessible, organic medium for artistic expression
