Long before Academy Awards night rolls around on March 10 to honor 2023’s best cinematic achievements, you’ve probably assembled your own slate of favorites in the Oscars race. There’s nothing more enjoyable than comparing your picks and talking about the nominated films and performers—and, of course, those you felt really should have gotten a nod—with other movie fans.

Washington City Paper film critic Noah Gittell hosts an evening that focuses on all things Oscar, from Academy Awards history and trivia to discussions of this year’s nominations and behind-the-scenes stories. He sorts through all the story lines, rumors, and gossip, so that when the telecast begins, you'll be the most knowledgeable guest at your Oscar party.

Plus, cast your vote for the winners in several major categories. The most accurate predictions are eligible for prizes after the awards are presented.

Gittell has covered the film world and Hollywood for The Atlantic, The Ringer, The Guardian, Slate, Los Angeles Review of Books, and the BBC.
