Use fun, powerful Lightroom software to organize your pictures, choose and develop your best images, avoid mistakes—and become a better photographer. The class provides a solid foundation in the Library and Develop modules in Lightroom Classic CC (and previous stand alone versions) through classroom lectures and demonstrations, with hands-on practice using your own pictures. Selected web-based resources help you understand Lightroom concepts, tools and interface and complete weekly assignments, and remain available after the course ends.

Special emphasis is placed on learning vital skills regarding how and where to store and access images, protecting image integrity, and organization, as well as image development. After this essential underpinning, you will be shown ways to use Lightroom’s creative modules to produce projects, and will create a book, slideshow, or both.

Students may use PC’s in the computer lab with Adobe Classic CC, or may bring a personal laptop with Lightroom loaded. Students using cloud-based Lightroom CC will also receive help and resources, but since its interface is different and feature set more limited, the course primarily focuses on Lr Classic.

Instructor: Barbara Southworth

8 sessions; 3 hours each (no class Nov. 12)
