Knitting in Living Color
Studio Arts Workshop
Saturday, April 18, 2020 - 10:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Ready to take your knitting to the next creative level? Spend a day exploring color techniques to inspire your new projects. After demonstrations of duplicate stitch, intarsia, mosaic, and Fair Isle color work, participants have an opportunity to try their hands at the various techniques, look at knitted samples, and discuss color work strategies with the instructor and other participants. Students should have basic knitting skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.
Participants should bring a 16-inch, size-8 circular needle, at least two colors of worsted-weight yarn, and a yarn needle. They are also encouraged to bring a 4-by-4-inch swatch knitted in stockinette on size-8 needles with worsted-weight yarn.
