A beautifully crafted chain can be the crowning touch for a handmade pendant, or be worn alone as a unique and expressive piece of jewelry. Learn to create three different chain designs using wire-working, forming, texturing, and fusing techniques.
Plenty of time is given to practicing each type of chain, and participants leave with a necklace-length piece incorporating all three designs, or a bracelet-length in a single design. Instructions for a complementary clasp for each type of chain are also included.
Some previous wirework experience (such as the Introduction to Beading course or similar workshops) is recommended. A wire and sheet metal kit ($50) is available for purchase in class, and Studio Arts hand tools are available to check out.
