Have you ever admired a boldly patterned sari and wondered how its fabric was created? Learn about traditional Indian woodblock carving as you create beautiful pieces of textile and printed art.
Students explore the motifs, colors, traditions, and history of Indian Rajastani textiles, dyeing with natural pigments, and sari woodblock creation. They design and carve several blocks used to print a scarf, as well as experiment with antique Indian blocks supplied by the instructor to create cards and other fabric art.
A supply fee of $65 payable to the instructor covers the cost of all materials.
