Master basket weaver Lori VanKirk Schue guides students in making a heart-shaped basket using basic weaving techniques. The workshop focuses on skills including planning and measuring, as well as preparing and aligning flat weavers to produce the basket’s unique shape. The combination of over–under weaving and rimming techniques results in a beautiful complex pattern that is deceptively easy to create.
Students supply their own spring clothespins, straight-nosed garden clippers, and a dishtowel. All other materials are provided. A $35 supply fee is payable to the instructor.
