The world's habitats are often organized into various categories that are mainly grounded in botany, but can also be informed by climatology, geology, and other paradigms. But for an amateur naturalist, birder, or outdoor enthusiast, a more intuitive tool for identifying habitat classifications has been lacking—until now.

Professional nature guides Philip Chaon, Iain Campbell, Charley Hesse, and Ken Behrens have co-authored a new comprehensive field guide to the world’s major habitats. The guide, Habitats of the World: A Field Guide for Birders, Naturalists, and Ecologists, is filled with color photos of habitats and wildlife, maps, diagrams, and information specific to each habitat, such as climate change effects.

Join Philip Chaon and Iain Campbell as they explain their approach to categorizing and explaining the entire globe's habitats from a much simpler perspective—a benefit to anyone who wants a better understanding and appreciation of habitats they explore, near and far.

Habitats of the World (Princeton University Press) is available for sale.
