Strasburg Railroad Locomotive Canadian #89 pulls passenger cars through Lancaster County pastures

A mecca for aficionados of railroad technology and history, Strasburg, Pennsylvania, offers the ideal destination for a tour led by rail historian Joseph Nevin. Featured in the leisurely day are a round-trip steam train excursion through the beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch landscape and an afternoon at one of America's finest rail museums.

On arrival in Strasburg, take your seat in a private first-class car that offers the perfect vantage point for picturesque views of Amish farms on a 45-minute ride through the rolling countryside.

After a 3-course lunch at the Fireside Tavern, spend the afternoon at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. An in-depth guided tour here includes attractions such as one of three surviving camelback steam locomotives, the elegant stateroom of a private car, and a 62-ton locomotive under which visitors can walk.

Fringe stop at about 7:55 a.m.

The railroad reserves the right to substitute coaches and motive power as operating conditions demand.
