Moroccan screenwriter and director Salma Bargach’s 2018 film Indigo tells the story of 13-year-old Nora, whose family life is shadowed by the cruelty of her brother Mehdi. When she takes refuge in the world of clairvoyance, she discovers a gift of her own that sparks further problems for herself and those around her. Screened as part of the eighth Luxor Festival of African Cinema, Indigo offers a compelling look at contemporary Moroccan filmmaking. (2018, 90 minutes, in Arabic with English subtitles.)
A light reception follows the screening.
This program is part of the Francophonie Cultural Festival 2020.
