Learn the techniques and joys of working with chalk pastels. A versatile medium that plays well with other mediums such as colored pencil, charcoal and watercolors. Multiple types of chalk pastel are introduced to all levels of artists who would like to create beautiful and dynamic artwork. Demonstrations of techniques are the main focus along with the history and versatility of the medium.
Students may choose their favorite subject to create: portrait, still life, abstract or landscape. This three-day class gives students a chance to produce multiple pieces of art while getting comfortable with pastels and appropriate tools.
