Colorful and bright gerbera daisies are one of the happiest summer flowers—and these cut crepe paper beauties will outlast the garden variety for months. This is a complex (but manageable) flower with dozens of petals, three different stamen, and leaves constructed with wire that allows us to exaggerate their shape.

This workshop introduces basic floral papercraft techniques. Learn how to manipulate the paper into different shapes to create gorgeous flowers so lifelike your friends will think are real!  At workshop’s end, leave with the ability to complete three realistic gerbera daisies. The workshop flowers are created using one weight of crepe paper, but various paper types and weights are discussed

The session is open to students of all skill levels, and no experience is required. All supplies provided in a kit to be ordered from the instructor (a supply fee of $20 is included in the workshop price). Supplies will be mailed to the address on file one week prior to the beginning of class. If you need your supplies mailed to a different address, please email us at Associates-StudioArts@si.edu. Please order at least one week prior to the class date to allow ample time for delivery.

This class will be recorded.  Please see our FAQ for recording terms and conditions.
