Think of it as an e-paint brush. Artists now have a new easy-to-understand digital editing tool to help them take finished drawings, paintings, watercolors, or photographs to another level.
In this 2-day workshop led by artist Chester Kasnowski, learn how to use a new app called the GNU Image Manipulation Program app (GIMP2) to create imaginative visual images.
With the open-source cross-platform image editing software, artists are able to create new images or change image composition; digitally amplify colors and adjust color tones; change image size; manipulate shadows and mid-tones; create circular-shaped images or enlarge image areas; and even generate black-and-white images from color originals. Kasnowski also addresses how to turn digital results into art prints using available online print companies.
Bring a laptop computer installed with the software and digital files of finished art work or any photograph—and get ready to create something new.
