Lodi Vineyard

Many of California’s winemakers and produce growers have become leaders in sustainability, bringing new approaches to their farms and vineyards. Drawing on her new book, Wine Country Table: With Recipes That Celebrate California’s Sustainable Harvest, food writer Janet Fletcher leads a virtual road trip that shares images and stories from her visits to locations that represent the future of responsible farming and winegrowing in the Golden State.

Among the them are Cakebread Cellars, Domaine Carneros, Turley Wine Cellars, and Tablas Creek Vineyard, along with Lodi Farming (cherries), Hilltop & Canyon Organic Farms (avocados and citrus), and Henderson Orchards (pears). She discusses some of the practices that these businesses have adopted on the path to sustainability, offers recipes for the summer harvest ahead, and advice on how to select, store, and use California’s year-round cornucopia. Stay for a small bite and a glass of wine at the conclusion of the program.

Fletcher is the author or co-author of 30 books on food and beverages, the recipient of three James Beard Awards, and has written for publications including the New York TimesSaveurFine Cooking, and Food & Wine.

Wine Country Table (Rizzoli) is available for sale and signing.
