An Adventurer's Delight: Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area

Join naturalist Keith Tomlinson for a virtual tour with an emphasis on adventuring. Located just three hours west of Washington in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, the beautiful highlands of Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area offer outdoor lovers an ideal setting for exploration.

Tomlinson covers the area’s natural history and its myriad of recreational attractions. Learn about the region’s biggest cliff and ponder the mid-Atlantic’s darkest night sky. Get to know the trails at Spruce Knob and Dolly Sods as they traverse thick conifer forests, high meadows, and swift creeks. Hiking, fishing, climbing, and camping opportunities abound, and Tomlinson highlights some of the best adventures from remote backpacking to day hikes and even a few classic rock climbs.

• If you register multiple individuals, you will be asked to supply individual names and email addresses so they can receive a Zoom link email. Please note that if there is a change in program schedule or a cancellation, we will notify you via email, and it will be your responsibility to notify other registrants in your group.
• Unless otherwise noted, registration for streaming programs typically closes two hours prior to the start time on the date of the program.
