The Interior Museum Murals Tour includes 26 photographic murals by Ansel Adams and many of the over forty mural panels painted by artists Maynard Dixon, Allan Houser, Gifford Beal and John Steuart Curry. Opened in 1938, the Interior Museum has collected over 6,000 objects of cultural, historic, and scientific importance, including a collection of over 800 North American Indian baskets contributed by private collectors. The Steward Lee Udall building was the first building in Washington, D.C. authorized, designed and built by the Franklin Delano Roosevelt administration. It combines elements of modern and classical architecture and illustrates the characteristics of the “New Deal” style. If you are interested in this tour, please register by Monday, December 2, 2019.
