Capturing the likeness of a specific individual is a time-honored and essential tradition in art. In this class, students will be introduced to the basic steps of how to create a convincing portrait using charcoal or graphite. Concepts such as the universal proportions of the face will be explored, as will techniques to help observe and record features that make a particular subject unique. All levels of experience welcomed.
