Lior Lev Sercarz blending spices

Spices are the fastest, easiest way to transform a dish from good to spectacular, according to spice expert Lior Lev Sercarz. The owner of New York City spice shop La Boîte and a professionally trained chef who has cooked at some of the world's most renowned restaurants, Sercarz knows that intriguing spices aren’t only for elaborate dishes. Variations on spices and spice blends can take even basic recipes for chicken soup, meatballs, or brownies into whole new directions.

Join Sercarz and a panel of culinary experts to learn how spices can be used to make food healthier and more delicious in your home, in restaurants, and even in the products of large food company like Nestlé.

Panelists include Jennifer Carroll, owner and executive chef of Carroll Couture Cuisine and Spice Finch in Philadelphia, and a former Top Chef contestant; Raquel Pelzel, cookbook author, writer, and recipe developer; and Robert Fedorko, director of culinary innovation at Nestlé USA.

Following the discussion, enjoy a reception featuring light bites prepared by Carroll Couture Cuisine using Sercarz’s spice blends, courtesy of the Nestlé Foundation. All guests receive a mini-jar of spice from La Boîte to take home.

The ticket price includes a copy of Sercarz’s new book, Mastering Spice: Recipes and Techniques to Transform Your Everyday Cooking (Clarkson Potter), courtesy of the Nestlé Foundation. This program includes a book signing.
