Marcum Thompson

Colonel Marcum L. Thompson, USAF Retired, served 28 years in the United States Air Force as an Air Intelligence Officer with assignments to the Joint Staff, United States European Command and United States Strategic Command. He commanded the 692nd Information Operations Group at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii and served as Director of Intelligence for Combined Joint Task Force OPERATION NORTHERN WATCH at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. He concluded his career in 2004 with an assignment to the National Security Agency at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. For over a decade, Colonel Thompson worked with the National Park Service as a volunteer tour guide at Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park's Chancellorsville Visitors Center and has led numerous battlefield tours and staff rides in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. He has also been a member of numerous civil war round table organizations, serving as president of civil war round tables in Omaha, Nebraska and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
