Materials for this program

By Sharon Robinson

If you like the idea of using images from magazines to create collages that tell a story, then this class is for you. For many people, combining magazine cutouts was the first form of collage they were exposed to, drawing on the rich array of possibilities using existing imagery. Photomontage also harkens back to the irreverent tradition of the pioneering artist Hannah Höch, the only female member of the Dada artist movement in post–World War I Germany. This class provides a wealth of imagery and ideas for executing your own photomontage. Take this opportunity to walk down the path of surrealism, political commentary, or any other subjects of your choosing.
